Amylin and Takeda to develop and commercialize pharmaceutical products for obesity

Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMLN) and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TSE: 4502) announced today that they have entered into a worldwide exclusive license, development and commercialization agreement to co-develop and commercialize pharmaceutical products for the treatment of obesity and related indications.

ExonHit Therapeutics to take part in MAPT study for early detection of Alzheimer’s disease

ExonHit Therapeutics (Paris:ALEHT) together with Toulouse University Hospital and l’Institut de Recherche Pierre Fabre (IRPF) will participate in the Multidomain Alzheimer Preventive Trial (MAPT). The study’s main objective is to assess the efficacy of a multidomain (nutrition, physical exercise, cognitive stimulation) intervention associated with an omega-3 treatment in preventing the decline of cognitive functions in aged and frail individuals.

Intervals between lung cancer diagnosis and treatment may attribute to health care discrepancies

Research published in the November 2009 issue of the Journal of Thoracic Oncology has found that intervals between lung cancer suspicion, diagnosis and treatment may be attributed to health care system discrepancies.

Study finds no link between hepatitis B and pancreatic cancer

A Henry Ford Hospital study found that hepatitis B does not increase the risk for pancreatic cancer - and that only age is a contributing factor.
